An accomplished and versatile cellist from the Pacific Northwest, Isaac Berglind enjoys performing chamber, orchestral, and solo music. He completed his Master of Music degree with Paul Katz at the New England Conservatory after finishing his undergraduate studies at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of David Ying. During his time at Eastman, Isaac was awarded the Glenn L. and Frances Harris Prize for outstanding work and accomplishment during his Eastman career.

Over the years, Isaac has been a fellow at festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, New York String Orchestra Seminar, Taos School of Music, and most recently, the Bowdoin International Music Festival. He’s participated in masterclasses with Yo-Yo Ma, Antonio Meneses, Darrett Adkins, Paul Katz, Norman Fischer, and David Geber.

Committed to making classical music more accessible, Isaac has been Blogmaster for the internet’s leading cello resource, CelloBello.org, since 2020. Isaac is passionate about taking his music to more familiar spaces, like breweries, wineries, art museums, and cafes. He maintains a full hybrid online/in-person teaching studio and enjoys working with a wide range of students.

Beginning his cello studies at the age of 11, Isaac studied with Efe Baltacigil and Janice Lee before beginning his undergraduate career at Eastman. He plays on a 1909 Ludwig Heinel cello on a generous loan to him from the Carlsen Cello Foundation in Seattle.
